Old habits die hard

Chris and I were quite pleased for about 2 weeks. Finn was down to one nap a day consistently and as an unexpected side effect, he was also "sleeping in" until about 6:30am. Unfortunately, he is up to old tricks and back to the 5am wake up. Good thing he is so darn cute. :)

Running Derailed

Laura was losing it. No where could she find her running shoes. Finn was in bed. She had looked in the usual places and now was asking me for help. We looked everywhere and to no avail. Every room twice and under things and in spots where they just wouldn't be. It was becoming apparent that some little toddler perhaps had helped himself to putting away mommy's shoes.
Starting to think like Finn we revisited all of the spots we had been previously and just looked lower. But still no shoes. Then Laura for unknown reasons started to take clothes out of her hamper and there under several layers of clothes were a pair of running shoes neatly put away by Finn.

Big Boy

Finn had his first haircut two days ago and now all of a sudden is no longer baby Finn but now big boy Finn. It started off similarly to the Santa Clause incident but after a little Elmo on the TV, he was able to calm down and pretended that the lady behind him cutting his hair did not exist.

WHO DAT

Uncle Joe, Aunt Jess, Cousins Kaiser and Quentin showing off their bead collection while watching the parade.

Uncle Edy enjoying the parade.

Finn and his daddy watching the parade from a safe location.

Finn was definitely supportive of Uncle Edy and Aunt Jess' new employer.

Airman Uncle Joe and Finn enjoying some snuggle time.

Finn having fun with cousins Kaiser and Quentin.

Finn returned just short of a week ago from his second airplane trip. We headed south to see Finn's Uncle Edy and family and also were lucky enough to spend time with Uncle Joe as well who is training with the Air Force currently in Biloxi, MS. Uncle Edy lives near New Orleans and we unknowingly timed our trip to take part in Mardi Gras festivities and also watch the Saints win the Super Bowl. The city was filled with "who dat", the chant of the Saints...what does it mean?...we are still not exactly clear other than that "is just what they say down here".
Finn started the trip with an episode of vomit on our way to catch our flight in Chicago and then a repeat performance at a night time Mardi Gras parade. I guess the excitement of it all was a bit too much to take. Luckily the rest of the trip went well and Finn had a great time.
We did go to another day time Mardi Gras parade and Finn had to step back with his daddy as he wasn't fond of the parade floats hurling tons of beads at his head!
We had a great time and were grateful for the warmer weather and sunshine.
